Tribute to George Harrison

What else can I say?

Homeward

This was written by my buddy Carl Walker and myself. Carl sings the backup vocal. A simple recording with just two tracks of my Collings OM-3C and two vocal tracks. Guitar and vocals were recorded with AKG C414-ULS microphones. This is the first tune I've recorded in as long as I can remember without a click track, drums or metronome. I just setup the mics and played the guitar parts.

Am Latin

Here is a quick bit of inspiration that is mostly acoustic guitar. Like most of my tunes, this one uses all 3 chords, but one of the chords is passing and brief, so this is really a 2 chord song. Unlike most of my recordings, this has no electric guitar (except bass). Rhythm on left and right are my trusty Martin HD-28 and my Guild JF30-12. There are 4 tracks of lead guitar, all on my Collings OM-3C. There is also a "guitar percussion" track played by tapping the sides of the HD-28. The kick, congas, snare and cymbals are from samples. The rest of the percussion is real. The bass was played on a Modulus VJ, a great bass guitar. This is the first tune I did, start to finish, using MOTU’s DP3. So far I like it.
This was big fun to play and record, probably because there was no goal. Just play it and see what happens. It has a bit of a Latin feel. The file is a little large, 3.5 MB, but when I tried for smaller files the quality suffered way too much. This, after all, is a home recording. Let's not hurt what little quality is there.

Sitting In The Driver's Seat

I was wondering if I could record a R&R tune using only acoustic guitars. I did use an electric bass and some drums, but everything else is acoustic guitar and vocal. I think it rocks pretty well and it was fun to play. Carl does a great bassline on this tune.
